Scheduling

Many research studies show that the most powerful element of counseling being effective is not the theory or technique used, but the therapeutic relationship that the counselor and client form.

I offer a free 15-minute virtual consultation to ensure that we will be a good fit to work together. We will go over any questions you may have and I’ll explain insurance benefits. You can briefly explain what your needs are and I’ll share how we would work together in counseling.
If we decide that we are not the right fit for working together, I will help connect you with referrals to well-equipped therapists whom I trust.

What to Expect…

Initial Intake Session- During the 55 minute intake, we will go over what brings you to counseling, symptoms you may be experiencing and how this affecting various areas of life: physical and healthy, sleep, appetite, family/social relationships, work, school, spiritual, etc. We will discuss your goals for therapy and discuss how we can work together to accomplish these goals.

Follow up sessions- These sessions are typically 55 minutes long. After the initial intake, we start working on your goals. This may include skills based work such as skills for regulating emotions, social skills, communication skills, decision making/problem solving skills or conflict resolution skills. Other times we may look at the past and see how childhood experiences and family relationships impacted and shaped you. We may look at unlearning some of the patterns that developed from the past. I may use techniques form EMDR to process past traumas. Some sessions may focus on goal setting and looking toward the future. There are many other valuable techniques and strategies that we will use together to help you accomplish your goals and achieve personal growth.

All sessions are delivered through a virtual/telehealth HIPAA compliant platform that you can access through a mobile device or laptop/desktop. Read this blog post about the benefits of Online counseling.
