Hi, I’m Amy…
I obtained my MA in Clinical Counseling from Columbia International University in South Carolina in 2013.
I am a LCMHC (Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor) in North Carolina and have been working in the Mental Health field since 2014. I am bilingual in English and Spanish.
My experiences include a variety of settings: online/telehealth, office-based therapy, in-home therapy, school-based therapy, and an addictions unit in the prison system.
I provide online therapy for adults of all ages. I enjoy working with people from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. I have a special interest in working with those who have experienced cross-cultural living, adjustment, culture shock, and may be learning to navigate life as a first/second generation immigrant or Third-Culture Kid.
We all have such unique experiences that shape our stories and I’m honored to walk this part of your journey with you.
More about me:
I’m bilingual in English/Spanish and offer counseling services in both languages. I was raised cross-culturally in Mexico by an American father and Guatemalan mother, with roots across the United States… “Where are your from?” is always a complicated answer. My husband is from North Carolina, which is how I ended up living in the Hickory area. We have a son and two rescue dogs. For fun, I enjoy gardening indoors and outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and being outdoors.
