I’m Amy Neal, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina.
I offer online counseling for adults of all ages.

I offer mental health therapy for:

  • Anxiety— You might find yourself overthinking, feeling stressed and on edge, have stomaches, trouble sleeping or resting, and have intrusive bothersome thoughts.

  • Depression— You may feel sad for no reason or feel numb, have low energy, low motivation, and life just doesn’t seem enjoyable, find yourself sleeping too much and have a hard time getting out of bed.

  • Trauma—You find yourself constantly needing to push back uncomfortable feelings and memories from past situations. You may have nightmares or stress dreams. You may find yourself being overreactive to situations or with strong emotions that seem out of place and seem to come out of nowhere.

My Approach to Therapy

Do you find yourself with a frequent negative thoughts running through your mind, such as:

“I’m not good enough”
“I can’t trust anyone and I can’t trust myself”
“I should have known better”
”I have to perfect… I can’t let anyone see”


Sometimes it’s hard to even recognize on a logical level that these thoughts aren’t true… there’s just no convincing you of the opposite. Other times, you can logically tell yourself that they are false, but you can’t quite shake the gut feeling that at their core these negative thoughts are true. Despite what you know, what others say, and despite any evidence you can find… you still feel deep down inside that “I’m just not good enough”.

In therapy, we explore past experiences that have contributed to those negative thoughts or core beliefs. Then using EMDR and other methods we work to reprocess or rewrite the narratives and scripts that are the foundation of these negative core beliefs. Over time, the strength of these negative beliefs fades, they become less frequent and you have the mental and emotional space to engage in the things that really matter to you in life. 

This process can be emotionally hard. And everyone’s journey through life can be tough, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

My goal as a therapist is to offer a fresh perspective and outside point of view as you navigate your way through life. My goal is to help you grow and flourish into who you are meant to be.
